Truth Seeker

2013, will  be a challenging year for me, not only to my professional work but specifically to my belief.

2013, i am commited myself to go deeper into a bible study and history. My intention is really to know more about GOD, His character and hopefully He will let me know His way of thinking :)

So, I called this year as a year for the Truth, or please allow me to call it "Truth Seeker Campaign" :)

What i am trying to achieve through this campaign are only two things :

1. To know the truth about God's character. I found myself not exerting much effort to study more about God's character. I know by faith and i experience His goodness in my life, so i know that God is love. But dont you think you want to know more about Him? His emotions, how He handles things in this universe, how He hears our prayers, or does He really have plan to in our life, etc. By faith we can always answer these questions, but i will not use faith to shield my lazyness in studying the Bible , and see what the Bible really tells me.

2. To know the truth about true religion. My most challenging question i have so far is         " Does God really fit into one religion" . We have so many beliefs/religions in this world, claimed to be the true religion. But what or who is the true religion? This year i will combine what Bible tells us about it, and most probably combine my study with historical data of how religion was made. Did God created all these religions or it was man made? So, did God create religion at all?

My prayer: Dear God, please guide me your servant, as i am trying to know more about you, and to simply seek for the truth. I have limited understanding, but i know you will help me, this has been my desires to know o ' Lord. Help me with your holy spirit to find the answers. Amen

Adventist Home

Gerald Amora. He is my first born son. The love of my heart. Born on April 12,2011, the day that changed my life.

Yes, we are an Adventist family, trying to live our life in God's way, to let God be in control in our family, making Christ as the example and teacher in our family.

Bible, the foundation of true knowledge-source of wisdom, teaching and counsels given by our Heavenly Father to keep us strong from any temptations. I prayed to the Heavenly Father that He will lead our family.
With God in the family brings joy in our home.
With God in the family makes family/marriage strong
With God in the family, home will be a small heaven in this world

PS.

Dear GOD

We need you Lord as our Counselor. Our need that no human can supply.
Let your promise in Psalm 32:8 be our part.

Genesis 29:20

Genesis 29:20 Jacob worked seven years so that he could have Rachel, and the time seemed like only a few days to him, because he loved her.

When i read this verse it gives me understanding about love that enable us to achieve our goals in life.Jacob goals was to get Rachel, and because his love he succeeded.

Jacob loved Rachel, it did not say that Jacob really loved Rachel, why? Love does not need word "really" because love is enough to perfectly explain things we do not seem to understand.

1. Jacob worked seven years so that he could have Rachel. Love cost a thing. It means sacrifice, when we love someone we do not ask why. At first it does not make sense to me why Jacob wanted to work for seven years just to have Rachel, it seems he did not have choice for other woman. But that is exactly the answer. Love does not make sense. Do we still remember back days during high school or college, when we courted someone we like? we did everything to get his/her attention. We wanted to be acknowledge by him/her, in other words we tried to do everything to get him/her. I will not judge Jacob "fool" for what he did to get Rachel, even though we knew the story that Jacob worked for another seven years to finally get Rachel. Crazy isnt it?? but that is love. We cant fully understand what love is because love doesnt make sense

2. And the time seemed like only a few days to him, because he loved her. Wow. I can see how love gives strength. Seven years seemed like only a few days for Jacob, what does this mean? it simply means Jacob didnt feel that 7 years of labor was a heavy burden for him. His love for Rachel gave him strength and courage to do such work. See how love can do such great things.

My question:
1.Have you ever love someone like this?
2.When you love someone, do you ask him/her to love you back? Love doesnt ask why.
3.Do we judge our partner on how the way our partners love us? Love doesnt judge.

Jalan Menuju Usia 100 Tahun

Merry Wahyuningsih - detikHealth

8. Hidup seperti Seventh Day Adventist

-- Biography Dr. Thomas Perls ( Taken from http://www.apbspeakers.com/speaker/thomas-perls)

Dr. Perls is a physician and researcher in the study of aging at Boston University Medical School. As Associate Professor in Medicine and a Geriatrician he cares for older patients at Boston Medical Center. Since he first discovered that his centenarian patients were among his healthiest, Dr. Perls has become one of a handful of world’s experts studying these exceptional human beings. For the past eight years he has directed the New England Centenarian Study (NECS). Funded by The Institute for the Study of Aging, The Ellison Medical Foundation, The Alzheimer’s Association, and The National Institute on Aging, the NECS is the largest genetic and social study of centenarians and their families in the world.

Centenarians have a history of aging very slowly and have either markedly delayed or entirely escaped diseases normally associated with aging such as Alzheimer's disease, cancer, stroke and heart disease. Dr. Perls and his colleagues recently discovered a key genetic region that plays a critical role in how centenarians age so well and live for such a long time. He is on the fast track to discovering these longevity enabling genes which could translate into the development of age-slowing and disease retarding drugs. Both USA Today and The New York Times have recognized Dr. Perls for the potential far-reaching and dramatic impacts such discoveries could mean for baby boomers today and future generations.

Findings from the study are presented in his book, Living to 100, Lessons in Maximizing Your Potential at Any Age. In addition, Dr. Perls created The Living to 100 Life Expectancy Calculator www.livingto100.com. With multiple publications and presentations, Dr. Perls and the centenarian subjects have garnered a great deal of media attention including appearances on The Today Show, Good Morning America, Oprah, nightly news programs and NPR.

Centenarians represent a new paradigm of aging: The older you get, the healthier you’ve been. Though genetics plays an important role in getting to 100, the centenarian study and its collaborators show us that most people should be able to live to their late eighties in exceptional health. These 25 to 30 years beyond age 60 of good health could mean a gold mine of new possibilities and vast potential for today's baby boomers and future generations.

Something that being forgotten...

Its Friday morning. Time in my laptop shows its 12:05 Am. The rain is pouring down so hard here. I just cant sleep. I whispered my bed prayer, but still i cant close my eyes. I know what is keep bothering me. I am now thinking what happen to people out there who are sleeping now on the street? Is that just too big thought you cant handle? I am serious... I am asking my self.. where is God? You have created us in your image.. People out there are just starving right now.. they cant sleep cause its rainy.. can you hear their prayer God? Rain is getting harder.. some people out there are trying to find shelter for them, maybe they are trying to find some more clothes to put on cause its cold tonight. Some of them maybe carrying their children, where the children cry for food after a long walk.. maybe some of them are crying cause they are loosing hope. Do you still remember us Lord? its ok with me.. but how about them? how about the orphan on the street? I cant do anything now besides praying. Lord i still have faith in you.

I pray to you: Please help them out there.. maybe they are hungry.. maybe they don't have anywhere to go.. maybe they are cursing their life now.. i am begging you from my deepest heart now Lord.. as you keep me until today please do the same thing for them out there.. show them miracles.. i believe they still have faith in you also..

Being Hypocrite...

Many of us probably try to be truth to him/herself, there is nothing wrong about that. But i tell you that there is nothing wrong also being a hypocrite person. You might wonder why i said that? In my experience it brought positive impact to others and i got benefit for having done such thing. Hypocrite that i want to explain here is not about permanent attitude but its strategy where your attitude has to be the front line.
This is strategy for those who are planning to reach top management level. Being a Hypocrite person still can be honest to him/herself. Because being honest to what you feel or think does not always have to be shown to others. This is the key.
Many of us had an experience when the first time got our first job, its so exciting, you might have commitment in you heart to put all energy and focus to your first job. After the last interview, you were invited to sign agreement and it was mentioned there that you will have 3 months probation period before you become permanent employee, but if you fail to show good performance during probation period then you will be terminated. Scary isnt? Yes, it is. In three months sometimes you are being forced to know all the systems, the flows of business , and the thing make you more suffer is that no one really care to teach you the flow or the system because they are all busy with their tasks. You might be desperate or stress out because you might not be able to know all of those things in just three months.Let tell you one short philosophy," If you think you not really fast in learning all your tasks, make sure that your attitude is excellent in your work place" That simple?? yes it is. To make an excellent attitude being hypocrite is needed. You might hate your direct supervisor but please dont show it, dont show that you are desperate, just smile and be attentive. How to develop that kind of skill? Development is not in through reading your management books, it's just like you want to learn how to swim, no problem if your read from your books how to be a good swimmer but will it develop your swimming skill? I dont think so. If you want to be a good swimmer just throw your books away and jump right away to swimming pool , at first you might feel heavy to move your hands and foot forward but if you try and try it will be easier. Thats development. So situation will develop you, when you are in the difficult & unfriendly situation dont think that this is the end, think that this is the right swimming pool for me to learn. Hyprocite skill that i want you to develop is that an good attitude to be shown where actually in your heart you hate you direct supervisor or your co-workers who dont care to show you how to do the job. Not onlythis, but let me tell you to be saved from 3 months period as much as possible try to build relationship with the top level bos. For instance i work as an controller, my direct supervisor is Controlling Manager, and my bos's bos is CFO. Im not only focus to my direct supervisor but i build relationship to the CFO (my boss's boss) How? Good question. Try simple greet and attention. For instance when your CFO passed by you in the morning with his fancy tie or coat, and you say " nice tie sir". Just simple as that. From that you can start building your relationship with your top boss. Be patient to develop this skill. Once you master it, whatever situation might be in your work place you can always look calm, confident, but deadly.
