Genesis 29:20

Genesis 29:20 Jacob worked seven years so that he could have Rachel, and the time seemed like only a few days to him, because he loved her.

When i read this verse it gives me understanding about love that enable us to achieve our goals in life.Jacob goals was to get Rachel, and because his love he succeeded.

Jacob loved Rachel, it did not say that Jacob really loved Rachel, why? Love does not need word "really" because love is enough to perfectly explain things we do not seem to understand.

1. Jacob worked seven years so that he could have Rachel. Love cost a thing. It means sacrifice, when we love someone we do not ask why. At first it does not make sense to me why Jacob wanted to work for seven years just to have Rachel, it seems he did not have choice for other woman. But that is exactly the answer. Love does not make sense. Do we still remember back days during high school or college, when we courted someone we like? we did everything to get his/her attention. We wanted to be acknowledge by him/her, in other words we tried to do everything to get him/her. I will not judge Jacob "fool" for what he did to get Rachel, even though we knew the story that Jacob worked for another seven years to finally get Rachel. Crazy isnt it?? but that is love. We cant fully understand what love is because love doesnt make sense

2. And the time seemed like only a few days to him, because he loved her. Wow. I can see how love gives strength. Seven years seemed like only a few days for Jacob, what does this mean? it simply means Jacob didnt feel that 7 years of labor was a heavy burden for him. His love for Rachel gave him strength and courage to do such work. See how love can do such great things.

1.Have you ever love someone like this?
2.When you love someone, do you ask him/her to love you back? Love doesnt ask why.
3.Do we judge our partner on how the way our partners love us? Love doesnt judge.
